From ‘ruin’ to ‘remix’

In an expression of value reassignment — that is, taking something that is ruined and turning it into something of value — the “Dirty Laundry” art show, opening Thursday at Chinatown’s Nuuanu Gallery at Marks Garage (1161 Nu’uanu Ave.), is a collection of stained T-shirts that have been silk-screened to incorporate the stains into the shirts’ designs.
