Everybody loves Liliha Day

Food, entertainment, produce, plants and flowers, arts and crafts, and keiki activities will be offered at the I Love Liliha Day Town Festival, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. today at the Prince David Kawananakoa Playground and Kawananakoa Middle School.

Champions ride into sunset

Cheer on the Waipi’o Little League champions at a parade that begins at 5 p.m. on Labor Day, along Kalakaua Avenue from Fort DeRussy to Kapi’olani Park. It’s called Parade of Champions, and also pays tribute to other Isle athlete heroes.

808 Urban art showdown

A b-boy, DJ, MC and graffiti battle takes place from noon to 5 p.m. today at the Palama Settlement Gym, 810 N. Vineyard Blvd. It’s sponsored by 808 Urban, a nonprofit that aims to replace random tagging with murals of artwork and to encourage at-risk youths toward positive goals.

A taste of Okinawan heritage

All things Okinawan will be celebrated at the 26th annual Okinawan Festival this weekend. That means pig’s feet soup, yakisoba, Okinawan soba, shoyu pork, Okidog (hot dog and chili, wrapped in a tortilla with shredded shoyu pork and lettuce), andagi, and Andadog (hot dog on a stick, dipped in andagi batter and deep-fried). OINK! Yes, that’s just the food.
